Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Cougars vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

With a playoff game on the line, Cardinal Mooney rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Calvary Christian Warriors. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Cardinal Mooney had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-13.

Zoe Kirby paced Cardinal Mooney's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kirby got some help from Layla Larrick and her 40 assists. Finally, Riley Greene kept Cardinal Mooney's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Despite the loss, Calvary Christian still got an impressive performance from Addie Davis, who had 23 digs. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in the last four games she's played.

Cardinal Mooney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Calvary Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-8.
