Volleyball Recap: Picayune Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Picayune was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pearl River Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maroon Tide lost 3-0 to the Long Beach Bearcats on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on September 9th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-11.

Long Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Peterson led the charge by getting 17 assists and two aces. What's more, Peterson posted two digs, the most she's had over her last three matchups.

Picayune has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Long Beach, they pushed their record up to 11-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Picayune will challenge Biloxi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Long Beach, they will take on Pass Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
