With a playoff win on the line, Battle Mountain rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mead Mavericks. The victory was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Mead's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alana Costello, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Lily Kimrey, who had eight digs and three aces. Costello has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.
Battle Mountain's win bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Mead, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 17-9.
Looking ahead, Battle Mountain will face off against Montrose at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
