Van Horn is 0-8 against St. Michael the Archangel since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Falcons will host the Guardians at 4:30 p.m. Van Horn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Van Horn is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Southeast on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 24-6 margin over the Knights. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brody Gray was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Carl Deck was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Van Horn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, St. Michael the Archangel waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Huskers.

Gage Burgess looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Griffin Moses and Maverick Cure did most of the damage at the plate: Moses got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple and one run, while Cure scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was JT Morehead, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.

St. Michael the Archangel's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Van Horn, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

Van Horn came up short against St. Michael the Archangel in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
