Basketball Game Preview: Florence Buffaloes vs. Llano Yellowjackets

Florence hasn't had much luck against Llano recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Florence Buffaloes will square off against the Llano Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Florence will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Florence saw some tournament action last Saturday. They snuck past Sidney with a 54-50 win.

Meanwhile, Llano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Stephenville, falling 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1544th, while the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees are ranked 304th).

Florence will have to contain Konrad Zwicke as he made an impact in Llano's last game. He posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Carl Schutte, who scored seven points.

Llano's loss dropped their record down to 0-24. As for Florence, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Florence was taken down by Llano 72-25 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Florence was down 44-8.
