Baseball Game Preview: John Marshall Rockets vs. Northfield Raiders

On Wednesday, John Marshall beat Byron 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Gavin Konz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because John Marshall is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Endle, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Konz, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Northfield made easy work of Owatonna on Tuesday and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering the Raiders have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Northfield's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for John Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
