Softball Recap: Fort Mill Gets the Win

While Fort Mill's win against Northwestern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Fort Mill came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwestern on Friday, sneaking past 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Haley Rogers looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Brooke Rosario was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in home runs (two). Elise Nordgren was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Fort Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Fort Mill's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Northwestern, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Mill will challenge Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Rock Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Hill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something Northwestern will no doubt try to take advantage of.
