Baseball Game Preview: Reidsville Rams vs. Voyager Academy Vikings

The Reidsville Rams will head out to take on the Voyager Academy Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Reidsville sitting on three straight wins and Voyager Academy on 13.

Reidsville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt North Forsyth on Tuesday. The Rams blew past the Vikings 17-2.

Meanwhile, Voyager Academy got the win against Durham Academy on Monday by a conclusive 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cameron Copley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Carrick Ryan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Aidan Daly, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Voyager Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Reidsville's record now sits at 7-9. As for Voyager Academy, their record is now 13-0.
