Softball Recap: Mohawk Takes a Loss

East Linn Christian Academy hit Mohawk with a six-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 12-11. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-8 on Tuesday.

Addison Barrowcliff was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Barrowcliff is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Amelia Mars also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Mohawk and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for East Linn Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Mohawk by a score of 18-3 later that day.
