Baseball Recap: Warren East Victorious

Warren East posted their closest win since March 31st on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Matthew Escalera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Warren East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Alexander, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Kavien Hinton was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Warren East's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-17-1.

Warren East will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
