Preview: Upperman Bees vs. East Ridge Pioneers
The Upperman Bees will look to defend their home field on Friday against the East Ridge Pioneers at 10:20 a.m. Upperman will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Upperman didn't have too much trouble with DeKalb County at home as they won 26-7. Given Upperman's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while DeKalb County is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Upperman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Palk led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronzden Chaffin, who threw for 116 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, East Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Hixson by a score of 17-14.
Upperman's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.4 points per game. As for East Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
