Football Game Preview: Winona Wildcats vs. Arp Tigers

The Winona Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Arp Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winona has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 30.

Winona managed to slip by Buffalo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats took a blow against the Bison on Friday, falling 41-7.

Meanwhile, Arp never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 53-0 win over Elkhart. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Arp's win came from a few key players Winona will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zane Bourque, who picked up eight receiving yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 84 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. Ty Langley was another key player, rushing for 21 yards and one score.

Arp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Arp's record is now 6-1. As for Winona, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Winona suffered a grim 54-28 defeat to Arp in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
