Basketball Game Preview: McKinney Boyd Broncos vs. Plano West Wolves

McKinney Boyd is 1-9 against Plano West since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McKinney Boyd Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Plano West Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Plano West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McKinney Boyd, who comes in off a win.

McKinney Boyd can't be too worried about heading out to take on Plano West: they just beat Princeton at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. McKinney Boyd came out on top in a nail-biter against Princeton on Friday, sneaking past 40-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Broncos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Panthers are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Plano West took a blow against Prosper on Friday, falling 70-24. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

McKinney Boyd's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Plano West, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-16.

McKinney Boyd barely slipped by Plano West in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 30-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for McKinney Boyd since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
