Softball Recap: Manor Comes Up Short

Manor fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against McNeil on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jayleen Del Fierro was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-6 with four RBI and two doubles. Sarah Ovalle also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Manor dropped their record down to 1-18 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for McNeil, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14-1.

As of now, neither Manor nor the Mavericks have any future games scheduled.
