Baseball Game Preview: DeKalb Barbs vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors

For the second straight game, DeKalb will face off against Waubonsie Valley. The Barbs will square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (DeKalb has four straight wins, Waubonsie Valley has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times DeKalb and Waubonsie Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Barbs came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-2.

DeKalb saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Latimer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

DeKalb pushed their record up to 15-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Waubonsie Valley, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
