Baseball Game Preview: Coral Springs Charter Panthers vs. Spanish River Sharks

The Coral Springs Charter Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Spanish River Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spanish River took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coral Springs Charter, who comes in off a win.

Coral Springs Charter's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Tuesday, when they got past Deerfield Beach's usually-dominant pitching crew. Coral Springs Charter blew past Deerfield Beach 15-5. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now won four in a row.

Reid Dadic spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Coral Springs Charter is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Damarion Chung was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Yadisson Karbalaieasghar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Coral Springs Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Spanish River lost 11-1 to St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

Coral Springs Charter now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Spanish River, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Coral Springs Charter skirted past Spanish River 6-5 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coral Springs Charter since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
