Football Game Preview: Christian Brothers Academy Brothers vs. Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars

The Christian Brothers Academy Brothers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Christian Brothers Academy's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Liverpool's usually-dominant defense. The Brothers breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 42-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-3.

Isaiah Coleman and Gradyn Dixon were among the main playmakers for Christian Brothers Academy as the former rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries and the latter threw for 176 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Christian Brothers Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Cicero-North Syracuse came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bees 41-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Northstars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Bees are ranked 278th).

Christian Brothers Academy's record now sits at 7-0. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, their record is now 5-2.

Christian Brothers Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Cicero-North Syracuse in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 21-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Brothers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
