Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Wilkes). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Ashe County Huskies 47-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Huskies are ranked 312th).
East Wilkes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Bumgarner out in front who rushed for 100 yards and two scores on only nine carries.
