Recap: New Home Leopards vs. Morton Indians
The New Home Leopards put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morton 54-6 at home. The result was nothing new for New Home, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Logan Addison was his usual excellent self, rushing for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Addison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cook, who rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown.
New Home's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.08 points. As for Morton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
New Home will head out on the road to face off against Ropes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ropes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1005th, while New Home is ranked 491st). As for Morton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seagraves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
