Softball Recap: Durand Comes Up Short

Montrose hit Durand with a eight-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Railroaders lost 14-8 to the Rams. The Railroaders haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Malerie Freese was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was MaKenzie Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Durand's record now sits at 6-10. As for Montrose, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.

As of now, neither Durand nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
