Softball Recap: Columbia Central Comes Up Short

Columbia Central managed to slip by Independence the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions lost 10-3 to the Eagles on Monday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Columbia Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruthie Lindsey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Columbia Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Independence, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Central will take on Warren County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will welcome Brentwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
