Baseball Recap: Northmont Comes Up Short

The matchup between Northmont and Beavercreek on Monday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Thunderbolts lost 16-6 to the Beavers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunderbolts have suffered against the Beavers since April 30, 2021.

Austin Welch was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Pendleton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Northmont dropped their record down to 2-4-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Beavercreek, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Northmont will be playing at home against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beavercreek will be paying especially close attention to the Thunderbolts' contest: after the Thunderbolts faces off against the Elks, they'll take on Beavercreek again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
