Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Victories for Evans

Evans had won ten straight home games dating back to last season and Chabria Tate did her part to make it 11 on Tuesday. The Evans Knights strolled past the Effingham County Rebels with points to spare, taking the game 65-46 thanks in part to Tate, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a triple-double on 40 points, ten boards, and 11 steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kimariya Hinton, who posted seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 20 times she's played.

Despite the loss, Effingham County had strong showings from Kyjana Jordan, who had 18 points and six steals, and Nakera M Hawkins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. What's more, Jordan also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Evans' victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Effingham County, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Evans will take on Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Effingham County has already played their next game (against South Effingham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
