Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Academy Chargers vs. Eminence Eels

Central Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Eminence recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Central Christian Academy Chargers will take on the Eminence Eels at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central Christian Academy is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Tabernacle Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Central Christian Academy put the hurt on Tabernacle Christian with a sharp 45-22 victory on Thursday.

Central Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Olivia Mattingly, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 25 points and eight rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Mattingly has scored at least a third of Central Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melea Rodriguez, who went 5 for 6 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Eminence entered their tilt with Seven Oaks Classical on Wednesday with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. They blew past the Firehawks 53-26.

Central Christian Academy better focus on containing Sophia Saucerman and Khloee Kirk as the pair were huge in Eminence's win. Saucerman posted 22 points, while Kirk had 21 points. The matchup was Kirk's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Webb, who earned eight points.

Eminence pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.5 points per game. As for Central Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Central Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 46-23 defeat they got from Eminence in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can Central Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
