Softball Recap: Moriarty Extends Winning Streak to Six

Moriarty had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes with a sharp 14-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Pintos, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Moriarty got a massive performance out of Kristina Means, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Rios, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Moriarty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Moriarty's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Pojoaque Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Moriarty nor Pojoaque Valley have any future games scheduled.
