Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Chase Kats

Fairfield is 10-0 against Chase since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Fairfield Falcons will host the Chase Kats. Fairfield will be strutting in after a win while Chase will be coming in after a defeat.

Fairfield will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 39) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Sedgwick out 37-34.

Fairfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yareli Martinez led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those eight rebounds gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Baker, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Fairfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Chase was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 33rd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Pretty Prairie, falling 70-17.

Chase's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Everything came up roses for Fairfield against Chase in their previous meeting on Thursday, as the team secured a 62-23 win. In that game, Fairfield amassed a halftime lead of 36-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
