Baseball Game Preview: Marksville Tigers vs. Jena Giants

Marksville is 0-10 against Jena since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. Marksville will challenge Jena at 6:00 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Marksville faced off against Bunkie on Tuesday. Marksville came up short against Bunkie, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Jena came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Flyers. Ten seems to be a good number for the Giants as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Collin Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Zoyle Gemar was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Brayden Oakes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Jena's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Marksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Marksville suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Jena when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Marksville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
