Basketball Recap: Sherman Comes Up Short

Sherman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell just short of the North Mesquite Stallions by a score of 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bearcats have suffered since November 30, 2023.

North Mesquite was led to victory by Syniyah Grigsby and Gabriella Grigsby. Syniyah dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Gabriella went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Syniyah has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for North Mesquite, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Sherman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-32 loss against North Forney on the 6th. North Mesquite has also already played their next contest, a 52-23 defeat against Tyler Legacy on the 5th.
