Newman International Academy triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Gavin Ridder

Recap: Newman International Academy Warriors vs. Spencerville Adventist Academy Hornets

In what's become a running theme this season, the Newman International Academy Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 65-45 margin over Spencerville Adventist Academy. The victory was just what Newman International Academy needed coming off of a 64-28 loss in their prior matchup.

It was another big night for Gavin Ridder, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deontae Casey, who scored ten points along with five steals.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vincent Toscano, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Toscano has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Thomas, who scored nine points.

Newman International Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Spencerville Adventist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Newman International Academy and Chisholm Trail Academy will face off at 3:10 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chisholm Trail Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Spencerville Adventist Academy, Spencerville Adventist Academy and San Gabriel Academy will face off at 3:10 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in San Gabriel Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
