Baseball Game Preview: Southwest Raiders vs. Cistercian Hawks

The Southwest Raiders will square off against the Cistercian Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Southwest fell victim to Bowie and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Volunteers. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, while Cistercian put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for St. Andrew's. The Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Highlanders, sneaking past 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

The result came thanks to Owen Kane's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Cistercian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Wang, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cistercian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.25 runs across that stretch. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.
