Gorham has gone 8-2 against Westbrook recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Blue Blazes at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Gorham is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Scarborough, who was ranked fourth at the time (Gorham was ranked seventh). The Rams took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Storm on Saturday. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Westbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to Thornton Academy.

Westbrook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Mitchel Violette also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Gorham's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Westbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Gorham was able to grind out a solid victory over Westbrook in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Blue Blazes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
