Football Game Preview: Venice Gondoliers vs. Palisades Dolphins + How To Watch

Venice and Palisades are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Gondoliers will host the Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Venice not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 42-0). They were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over University. The win continues a trend for the Gondoliers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venice to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bennett Dome, who threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Dome a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Palisades won against Mary Star of the Sea last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Dolphins strolled past Westchester with points to spare, taking the game 35-19. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Comets are ranked 732nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palisades' win came from a few key players Venice will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Demare Dezeurn, who picked up 181 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 105.8 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Carter, who gained 111 total yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Palisades, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dezeurn, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory got Venice back to even at 3-3. As for Palisades, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Venice barely slipped by Palisades in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 45-44. Will the Gondoliers repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
