Recap: Wheaton North Falcons vs. Batavia Bulldogs
The Wheaton North Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Batavia, falling 58-29. While losing is never fun, Wheaton North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Batavia is ranked ninth).
It was another big night for Brooke Carlson, who scored 22 points along with 7 steals for Batavia. The matchup was Carlson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Warner, who scored 10 points.
Wheaton North has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Batavia, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheaton North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stagg at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. As for Batavia, they will face off against Naperville North at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Naperville North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
