Basketball Game Preview: Dickson County Cougars vs. Creek Wood Red Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Dickson County Cougars will get right back to it and host the Creek Wood Red Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dickson County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Creek Wood likes a good challenge.

If Dickson County beats Creek Wood with 64 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Dickson County came out on top against Clarksville by a score of 64-51 on Thursday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Wildcats are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Creek Wood can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-42 victory over Rossview.

Creek Wood's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Dickson County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Dickson County took their win against Creek Wood in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 65-41. Will Dickson County repeat their success, or does Creek Wood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
