Volleyball Recap: Hershey Comes Up Short

Hershey lost against Maywood/Hayes Center back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Wolves.

Hershey started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.

Demi Damoude paced Hershey's offense, picking up 14 kills. Damoude got some help from Kenna Bringewatt and her 16 assists. Ella Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Jaylee Sellers was a one-woman wrecking crew For Maywood/Hayes Center. as she had 25 assists and 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Sellers a new career-high.

Hershey now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Hershey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Grand Island Central Catholic on the 20th. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Wauneta-Palisade on the 18th.
