4A Region 2 recap September 24, 2013
Ripley extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 2 this week by beating Calhoun City, 22-19. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Senatobia fell to Water Valley 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
New Albany's dynamic duo of Bryce Collins and Robert Franklin proved to be unstoppable against Corinth, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Collins threw for 24 yards and Franklin had 24 yards receiving.

DK Buford was a passing and rushing force as Lafayette beat Shannon.
Collins put up the best numbers through the air as New Albany lost to Corinth.
Buford was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 137 yards as the Commodores fell to Doug Jones' team. Tyrell Price also contributed to the rushing game with 124 yards on the ground.
Franklin was the best receiver in the league this week as the Bulldogs fell to the Warriors.
Leading 4A Region 2 in both passing and receiving yards, Byhalia's Markiese Rodgers and Antonio Wilson have proven to be a lethal combination. Rodgers has thrown for 527 yards this season, while Wilson, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 11 catches for 337 yards. Lafayette's Buford leads the league in rushing yards with 416.
Ripley and the Wildcats played the most contested game in the league this week, with Ripley eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory.
