Softball Game Preview: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Manteca Buffaloes

Sierra is 0-10 against Manteca since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Timberwolves will be playing at home against the Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m.

Sierra is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to Oakdale.

Meanwhile, Manteca waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Buffaloes have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Riley Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Lauren Moncada was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sienna Owen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Manteca pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
