Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Westview's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Westview won the last time they faced Mount Michael Benedictine and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Westview let Kevin Rempe and Darius Boyd run wild. Rempe went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Boyd went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Boyd a new career-high. Scott Miner II was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Westview has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Westview will welcome Lincoln Southeast at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Skutt Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The SkyHawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
