Basketball Recap: Waynesboro Comes Up Short

Waynesboro lost against Riverheads back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Waynesboro Little Giants came up short against the Riverheads Gladiators, falling 66-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Little Giants have suffered against the Gladiators since February 14, 2022.

Waynesboro dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Riverheads, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Waynesboro and Riverheads could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Waynesboro will square off against Staunton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 304 places (345 vs. 41). Meanwhile, Riverheads (ranked 244th) will meet Wilson Memorial (ranked 69th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
