Softball Recap: Carrboro Has No Trouble Against J.F. Webb

Carrboro's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the J.F. Webb Warriors. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Teagan Fichter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jill Schroeder was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Avery Lackland, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Carrboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for J.F. Webb, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Carrboro will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
