Basketball Recap: Elevation Prep Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Accelerate Academy

Elevation Prep Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 93-51 defeat at the hands of the Accelerate Academy Wildcats on Tuesday. The Honey Badgers were down 74-42 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Elevation Prep Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KEVIN RODRIGUEZ, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Walker, who shot 46% from the field en route to 13 points.

Accelerate Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Timothy Burris led the charge by putting up 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Donte Greene Jr., who posted 13 points and five boards.

Accelerate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elevation Prep Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Winston Salem Christian National at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Accelerate Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Winston Salem Christian Silver at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
