Basketball Recap: Peyton Panthers vs. The Classical Academy Titans
The Classical Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Peyton proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past The Classical Academy Titans 63-61. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Peyton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Gregg, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 18 points and six boards. Gregg is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. Michael Perry was another key player, going 6-for-8 to rack up 21 points along with five assists and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why The Classical Academy lost, don't look at Ky Walker. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-16 en route to 20 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Walker a new career-high in steals. Ben Mullenix also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
