Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Clovis West

The Central Grizzlies will take on the Clovis West Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Friday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They fell just short of Clovis by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Cougars are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Clovis West entered their contest against Clovis North on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Clovis West came up short against Clovis North, falling 5-0. The game was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Golden Eagles it sure didn't stay that way.

Clovis West's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-2 and their overall record down to 9-4-3. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-4 record this season.
