The Palmyra Cougars will square off against the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmyra is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
If Palmyra beats Bishop McDevitt with 13 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Cougars' way against Manheim Central on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 victory. Considering the Cougars have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brayden Bown looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braedon Sommer and Tyler Peck did most of the damage at the plate: Sommer went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Peck went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Peck a new career-high. Aiden Willard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Bishop McDevitt and Carlisle, and Carlisle kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thundering Herd on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly five runs.
Easton Comp was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base.
Palmyra pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Palmyra has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bishop McDevitt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
