Basketball Recap: Knippa Find Success

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Knippa ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by the Rocksprings Angoras 59-58. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Crushers considering their 23-point performance the game before.

Several Angoras players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hunter Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds. That was a full 34.5% of Rocksprings' points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Estrada, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points.

Knippa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Rocksprings, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Knippa will take on Utopia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Utopia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests. As for Rocksprings, they will challenge Leakey at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocksprings is facing Leakey at the right time seeing as Leakey is stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
