            Baseball Recap: Sheldon Huskies vs. Elk Grove Thundering Herd        
        
		
        
        
            Sheldon had lost eight straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-18 to make it nine. They lost  10-0 to the Elk Grove Thundering Herd. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thundering Herd this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  11-1  on Monday.
As for Elk Grove, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
For Elk Grove's part,  Ryan Lindner looked comfortable as he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Lindner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Chase Groves was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple.
While Sheldon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
