Basketball Recap: Liberty County Skates Past Southeast Bulloch with Ease

Liberty County's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets 63-11. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lyric McIver, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. Those 18 points gave McIver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maritza Troche, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals.

Liberty County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

With the win, Liberty County broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Southeast Bulloch, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Liberty County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 40-31 victory against Groves on the 10th. As for Southeast Bulloch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-30 loss against Windsor Forest on the 10th.
