Franklin Academy skates past Horeb Christian with ease

The Franklin Academy Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past Horeb Christian 70-28 at home. Considering Franklin Academy has won four games by more than 26 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklin Academy found their leader in underclassman Robert Guishard, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 23 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Guishard. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Poyser, who scored 11 points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Horeb Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jonathan Gonzalez scored 16 points.

Franklin Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Horeb Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Somerset Academy Central Miramar at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Horeb Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hebrew Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Hebrew Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
