Softball Recap: West Field Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

West Field extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-4 in the process. Everything went their way against the Mountain Crest Mustangs as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

West Field let Ayzlee Sessions and Rylee Andreasen run wild. Sessions went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Andreasen went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Sessions a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Leatherwood, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Field kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

As for Mountain Crest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

On Mountain Crest's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dani Alexander, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Looking ahead, West Field will challenge Clearfield at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Mountain Crest, they will square off against Box Elder at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
