Softball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

Aquinas fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Columbus Catholic on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 10-9. The Blugolds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Scholze was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Fernholz, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one triple.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Columbus Catholic, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Aquinas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against Lourdes Academy on the 16th. As for Columbus Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Athens on the 19th.
